Office News Time for physicals! Spring and Summer are the best time of the year to get your child's yearly physical. Our office is less busy and there are less sick children in the office. During the physical we will evaluate your child's overall health, including hearing, vision, height, weight, and blood pressure. These physicals will allow us to complete any needed documentation or forms for school, sports and camps for the next year. We recommend a yearly physical for all children, but some key ages that require them are prior to starting Kindergarten and the 6th grade. Medicaid encourages a yearly physical for all children covered by this insurance. Additionally, all children with asthma should have a yearly physical to monitor their lung function and medications. We typically experience a big rush to to have physicals completed in August, when school and sports start. This year we are trying to complete them throughout Spring and Summer, to insure all children get their necessary care and immunizations. Over the coming months we will be actively contacting families to try and get these physicals scheduled. Appointments will fill up quickly, so if you are unsure if your child needs a physical, call our office today. |
